Falco

Falco is a Dutch-bred, June-bearing strawberry variety that performs particularly well in tabletop growing systems.

And above all, it is the flavour that impresses. Falco has that proper, classic strawberry taste – the kind that reminds you exactly why strawberries and summer belong together. In our opinion, it is a genuine challenger to old flavour classics such as Senga Sengana and Korona, and those are not varieties we compare lightly.

Falco also has an important role in our growing system. Everbearing varieties often take a natural break in production for a period during June. That is exactly when Falco comes into its own, filling the gap with a concentrated crop.

Yields are more moderate than those of our most productive varieties, but the berries are large, beautiful and highly attractive. They have also proven to have impressive keeping qualities.

Falco also shows good resistance to several fungal diseases. That helps reduce the need for crop-protection treatments and fits very well with the way we want to grow our fruit.

So Falco may not win the competition for the greatest number of kilos.

But for flavour, quality and timing, it is very difficult to overlook.
