Welcome to life on a fruit farm in Hardanger, where the views are outrageously good and the air is so fresh it almost feels rude not to breathe deeply. You’ll be staying in a charming wooden cabin (or chalet, if we’re feeling slightly French) that comfortably sleeps up to seven people – perfect for families, friends, or anyone who prefers space over arguing about who gets the sofa.

Set among beautiful Hardanger landscapes of orchards, mountains and fjords, this is also an excellent base for exploring the village on foot. From here, you have also easy access to local hikes. and if you use a car to get around, there is countless hikes, including famous routes such as Trolltunga, Dronningstien, Oksen and Lilletopp, to name just a few. Add to that a generous selection of waterfalls in the immediate area, and you may find yourself running out of excuses not to go for a trip.

All equipment is included in the rental, so there’s no need to pack half your house. In season, you’re welcome to taste a wide variety of fresh fruits and berries straight from the farm – considerably better than anything found in plastic boxes. And if you enjoy cider or beer, you’re in luck: three apple cideries and one traditional brewery are located just a five-minute walk away, which is conveniently close and reassuringly manageable.

For those feeling energetic (or optimistic), there are also opportunities to rent kayaks and SUP boards and explore the fjord nearby. Or, of course, you can simply sit back, admire the view, and congratulate yourself on choosing such an excellent place to stay.
